Some good retro\vintage bass remakes?

I’m an electric bass player looking for a step-up bass. I also like remakes of older basses. I was thinking:
Squier ’60s Retro Vibe Jazz Bass
Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass
Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass
Fender Road Worn ’60s Jazz Bass

Any other ideas? 5 strings?

I’ve played the fender (mexican) road worn 60’s jazz and it looks VERY convincing – it was “worn” and discolored in all the right places. Nice tone and playability too, although I prefer the 70’s neck to the 60’s neck personnally.

if you get a rickenbacker they pretty much haven’t changed thier design over the years, so they look very retro too, even the new ones, especially if you get the fireglo finish. EIther way you’re going to pay for it…

if you go the short scale route, there’s the hoffner “violin” bass like paul mccartney uses. Rogue makes a cheap version of it, but I haven’t played the rouge, just the hoffner, so I can’t speak to it’s quality. i’m sure the squires you linked are okay too, although I haven’t played them.

“vintage/retro” and “5 string” are not generally used in the same sentance. 5 strings were VERY rare instruments back in the day.
